I'm not quite sure what happened the past two days, but I got a semi-final form of my paper sent out to co-authors and PRIMUS people. Now I have to catch up with my astro-ph reading.

The UV-continuum properties of Ly alpha selected galaxies at z~6.5
Cowie, Hu, Songaila
* Whoa, that's some high redshift.
Ly alpha is present in 24% of all galaxies with M_AB(1350A) < -20 at z~6.5. The Ly alpha galaxies are extended but small (<1kpc) and have SFR of ~10 M_sun/yr.
All properties of z~6.5 sample appear to be very similar to Ly alpha emitters at lower redshifts.

Discovery of cold, pristine gas possibly accreting onto an overdensity of star forming galaxies at z~1.6
Giavalisco et al
* That's pretty specific. How did they find it?
Cold (T~10^4K), chemically young gas in an overdensity of galaxies at z~1.6 in GOODS-S. Found from its ultra-strong MgII absorption in the rest-frame UV spectra of galaxies in the BG of the overdensity. The gas does not appear to be associated with any particular galaxy. They show (the first possible) evidence of motion consistent with accretion. They are accreting onto galaxy members of a large structure, which might help with the detection of these gases.
* They found it in the GOODS survey, via spectra stacking.

The effects of X-ray feedback from AGN on host galaxy evolution
Hambrick, Ostriker, Naab, Johansson
* Ostriker!
GADGET-2 simulation [assumed hydrodynamic] of massive ellipticals with X-ray from AGN that matches observations, and where the X-ray heats the surrounding gas out to large radii. This is found to enhance (x2) feedback effects from AGN that suppresses SF; also somewhat lowers the central BH mass. This is more effective than a plain X-ray BG in suppressing number of satellite galaxies.

The origin of dust in high redshift QSOs: the case of SDSS J1148+5251
Valiante, Schneider, Salvadori, Bianchi
* Apparently they are going to use SAM.
Following DM merger trees, assemble BH through BH mergers and gas accretion; SF history of host galaxy; evolution of gas, stars, metals in ISM; SNe eject dust formation and stellar atmosphere of AGB stars; dust destruction of interstellar shocks and grain growth in molecular clouds; AGN feedback which powers a galactic-scale wind that self-regulates BH growth and halting SF. This SAM is used to case-study a particular QSO object at z~6.4, and different SF histories are explored of the host galaxy.

Reheating effects in the matter power spectrum and implications for substructure
Erickcek, Sigurdson
wait, I did this one. 50% of all DM will be in microhalos with M > 0.1 Earth mass at z=100 (compared to 1e-10 in standard case)
